The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new. ~Rajneesh

now now boyie, i am not judging you at all!

I can hardly remember how my lunch tasted like. I was engrossed in staring (whenever possible) at a guy who sat a table away from me. No, not because he was a looker who sets hearts afire or something, but because he was funny to look at! At least he was to me.

I do not have anything against people who dye their hair, but this guy with his blond, brown and red hair looked simply ridiculous. To my utter amusement, he had his hair in two ponytails! One on top of his head, and another at his nape.

I wonder if he convinced himself that he looked funky, or someone else convinced the poor guy that he is the next best thing after electricity. And the attitude he had! You would think that those who are in skirt/blouse or shirt/pants are the un-coolest(no such word, i know. it just sounded cool when i typed it) people to occupy planet earth.

He also had on this t-shirt that had many sms styled messages printed on it. The ones I managed to read were:

I miz u.

Y r u L8.

I 1 2 b wif u.

U r g8.

I luv u.

Hahahaaa!! Seriously, what’s up with the spelling??!! I noticed this trend of misspelling words, which I think is ridiculous! Wif? WIF?? LOL.

The entire look was simply too ridiculous for my sleep deprived mind to bear.

I would have loved to whip out my phone and snap a picture of him, but I don’t think I can look into his eyes and tell him I want his picture because he is too cool. Ha! And since telling him the truth (that I need it for a good laugh) might not result in a pleasant situation, I decided to make do with just the memory of him.

But……if there is space for people of all colors, sizes, heights, faiths, sexuality and cultures in this world, then there definitely is place for people of variety :)

It was a darn funny sight, though.

They do that stuff because they want attention, the want to be different, they want people to stare at them. That's my theory. A friend of mine, who dyes her hair funky colors, told me that she thinks people with low self esteem do it because it distracts from something about them that they don't like. Either way, these people have issues. So, it's nice that you didn't snap a picture.

I 1 2 b wif u.

very clever though...I even had to read that one a few times.

I've had my hair lots of different ways, but red and purple in two odd pony tails? nope. I'm still waiting for the courage to give myself dreads or shave it Sinead O'Connor style...

we'll see.

lib ext: i agree with you, on the wanting attention part. there cannot be any other reasons..or can there?

LM: lol. can we see a pic if you ever do it? ;)

amanda: lol. somehow i think that even if i had taken a pic, i wouldn`t have posted it on the web...without editing it by erasing his face off.

Reminded me of a quote -

Oh--come on ...I had a band in eighth grade called 'PRANX' because we (the girls at my sleepover birthday parties) would prank call all of the teachers during my sleepovers. (That was...28 years ago--before Prince!)

I was the whacked out dresser in my high school...then I went to art school in NYC and let all the others do their thing. So, I think there's totally a place for the man that you were staring at. It just irks me when (people who dress like that) get angry when people stare. Not that he did. But, you know what I mean.

Fun post--thanks!
Or, should I say, 'thanx'!

I love diversity in the way people choose to present themselves, but sometimes I think people go overboard with trying to be different.
