an eventful night - part 2

normally, it would have taken us about 15 to 20 minutes to reach the intended restaurant. but as i mentioned here, it took us about an hour. maybe more. the reason was as the picture below clearly (maybe not so clearly) shows. it was raining cats and dogs! it was so heavy, we could hardly see the cars in front of us. traffic was slow, with good reasons. our friend drove, while i sat in the back seat and enjoyed the sound of rain and capturing pictures using my mobile. i think i dozed off for a while, because the next thing i remembered was my sweetie`s excited voice telling me to look to my left hand side outside. i did, and i saw this:yup. water was gushing out of nowhere onto the highway! (if you look closely, you can see the water on the left). the above picture was taken while we were stuck in a jam on a bridge. a few metres away, cops blocked the way and all car drivers were informed that we could not use the road, but had to u-turn back. i requested our friend to stop the car so that i can snap a few pictures of the flood.

while snapping the pictures, few people gave me a look which clearly showed their disapproval towards my action. i only snapped a few pictures, as their looks were making me nervous. from my rough and brief observation, i think 30 or so cars were stranded in the flood.

i felt bad for them, especially after my sweetie explained what happens when water gets into the car engine.

i also feel bad for being excited. but oh well, that`s just me, and it was my first time witnessing a flood as it happened.

note: the pictures are blurry as they were taken using my handphone, and the picture resolution is only about 0.3 mega pix i think.
